The Story
Today, it began. First came the news reports of unprecedented strange behaviour of marine life. Hundreds of killer whales massing in the waters off the Japanese whaling community of Taiji, effectively blocking every single whaling ship from going to sea. Then came the shark attack upon a ferry in the waters of Bermuda, where loss of human life was estimated to be in the hundreds. For a fleeting moment, Mankind paused to consider the unthinkable, “Is nature striking back? Has greed and corruption gone too far?”,...but only for a moment. Then came even stranger reports. Dolphins rescuing the children of drowning migrants in the, now, deadly waters of the Aegean. And, as the faithful bathed in the river Ganges, it was said that thousands of river fish came so swiftly, and with such savage intent, that the river ran red with blood.
Meanwhile, upon a remote, isolated, island situated in the North Sea, off the coast of England, the island women view these unfolding events on their televisions with a degree of expectation. They have been waiting, generation after generation. They know what is to come.
On a day of birthday celebrations, three teenage children turn fifteen. It has been fifteen years since any other child has been born upon the island. Along with the birthday cake, the day out at sea and the late autumn sunshine, laughter turns to terror as Mother Nature makes her move.
Marine biologist, Tate Arnold and his partner, local fisherman David Blackstock, islanders born and bred, live an idyllic life with teenage son, and birthday boy, Mitchell....until today! When years of tangled family secrets and supernatural tales unfold in the most terrifying ways imaginable.
And as the red moon rises, the sea is calling all the children of Planet Earth home!
